This 1.8 million square foot state of the art multi-purpose sports and convention facility was opened 2008 as the home for the NFL Indianapolis Colts, with seating for over 67,000 fans on 7 different levels. This facility has a huge back of stage space that includes 7 professional locker rooms, 11 indoor truck docks, 12 meeting rooms, and 44,000 square foot of additional convention space. The entire electrical system was installed by Barth Electric which includes the following: High Voltage distribution system, Stadium sports lighting, General facility lighting and power feeds to the retractable roof, HVAC equipment, Scoreboard, Ribbon boards and Stadium TV's. And Barth continues to this date to perform general service work in this building.
Conrad Hilton Hotel (Downtown Indianapolis)
One of Indy's most luxurious hotel experiences, the 243 room Conrad Hilton Hotel is situated at the northeast corner of Washington and Illinois Streets. Connected directly to Circle Centre Mall by the Artsgarden skywalk, this spectacularly appointed 23 story spa hotel spells luxury. From fine art to wine tasting, every amenity is available. Opened in 2006, the Indianapolis Conrad Hilton Hotel is listed among the top 100 hotels in the world.
Historic Athenaeum Building Renovation
The Athenaeum Foundation
Established in 1894, the Athenaeum has been a social gathering point for the German communities since it’s beginning. It is the only 19th century cultural center still remaining in Indianapolis. The Athenaeum also houses the Rathskeller, an authentic German restaurant and the oldest restaurant in continuous operation in the City, as well as the YMCA. Barth Electric was designated as the electrical contractor to manage the electrical restoration of this historic building. Much of the electrical work dates back to the building’s original construction.
Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Barth Electric was selected as the electrical contractor for the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Broadcast Video Cabling Systems. The 750,000 square-foot facility is the world’s first fully-themed professional sports and entertainment venue, according to the building’s design firm Ellerbe Becket Sports and Entertainment. Barth installed the video and broadband distribution systems required for all internal video and voice/data communications, including the infrastructure necessary for 50 media outlets feeding the satellite broadcast systems. The scope of the work included 454 television monitors and nearly 180 miles of fiber optic, coaxial and triax video cables.
Conner Prairie Electrical & Security Upgrade
Conner Prairie is an open-air living history museum located in Fishers, Indiana. It serves as a local, regional and national center for research and education about the lives, times, attitudes and values of early 19th century settlers in the Old Northwest Territory, based upon the Indiana experience. Barth Electric was responsible for the design and installation of the fiber optic security and fire alarm infrastructure that linked all of the Museum Buildings. In addition, Barth was responsible for the electrical distribution system for the new Lilly Pavilion and the renovation of Persimmon's Restaurant.
Circle Centre Mall

This 800,000 square-foot retail facility comprises anchor stores, Nordstrom and Parisian as well as nearly 100 specialty stops, restaurants and nightclubs. Circle Centre’s entertainment venues include a nine-screen cinema. In addition to being the final ingredient in Indianapolis’ downtown redevelopment, Circle Centre Mall is not only architecturally notable but features eight historically significant facades dating back to the 1800’s. The electrical distribution system is state-of-the-art and features the latest in electrical metering and billing systems.
Control Tower, Media Center & F1 Garages & Suites
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Barth Electric was selected as the electrical contractor for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway expansions and renovations leading up to the inaugural United States Grand Prix in September, 2000. The facilities, Control Tower, Media Center and F1 Garages & Suites were constructed on an extremely tight construction schedule while coordinating the project around four world-class sporting events. The project called for an extensive electrical distribution system, as well as new phone, video and television systems.
St. Vincent Hospital
Each year nearly 150,000 patients receive health care at this world-renowned hospital. A major tertiary and acute care center, the Indianapolis Hospital is home to the Indiana Heart Institute, the state’s largest cardiac care center. The hospital is also a regional referral center for several specialties, including oncology, maternity services, children’s health, sleep disorders, orthopedics/sports medicine, neurology/neurosurgery, ophthalmology and occupational health. Barth Electric was chosen as the electrical contractor for new projects and renovations in support of most of the above specialties.
Indianapolis Scottish Rite Cathedral
This 70-year-old historic landmark is recognized by the American Institute of Architects as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Barth Electric managed the electrical upgrading of four major systems: the accent lights on the building exterior, chandeliers in the ballroom and auditorium, new air conditioning in the 180,000 square-foot building and state-of-the-art rigging and electrical systems for the auditorium stage. The Cathedral is returned to its leading position as it was in 1929 when it opened.

This 165,000 square foot, five story, neoclassical monument is filled with new technology to honor Indiana’s rich heritage and bright future. Completed in 1999, it houses an exhibition gallery, theatre, gift shop, library, great hall, café, classrooms and historical archives for the State of Indiana. Barth installed 51 miles of electrical wiring in conduit, 14.5 miles of security wiring, 19 miles of flexible metal cable and 74 miles of data transmission wiring. In addition, the lighting system comprised 200 custom-designed light fixtures.
Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing

The Fashion Mall at Keystone is an upscale retail venue located at Keystone Ave. and 86th street on the city's northeast side. Home to 95 stores and restaurants, it is one of Simon Property Group's premier shopping destinations in Indianapolis. After its latest renovations, this 680,000 square foot, high end mall houses a new food court, a variety of retail choices, and even a car dealership.
New Sanctuary Addition & Renovations
St. Luke's United Methodist Church
The new addition and renovations at St. Luke's United Methodist Church required two years to complete. The 67,000 square-foot project required over 400,000 bricks and 225 tons of steel. The electrical portion of the effort cost in excess of $750,000. The 45 foot sanctuary ceiling featured extensive use of recessed lighting and incorporated a digitally controlled whole house dimming system.
Simon Property Group
Starting in spring of 2004 with a completion date of 2006, the Simon Corporate Headquarters building is located on the southwest corner of Washington Street and Capital Avenue. The 14 story building sits on 2 sub-levels of parking garage. The site where the building sits was formerly vacant. The project consisted of all new construction, adding another high-rise to the Indianapolis skyline. The electrical requirements for the building consists of 3-2500 amp and 1-2000 amp service. In addition to building power there is an 800 amp service that serves Café Patachou (also a Barth project).
Major General Emmett J. Bean Federal Center
General Services Administration
Barth Electric managed the electrical renovation portion of this 1.6 million square foot building. It is second in size only to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. This project lasted nearly three years. When completed Barth had managed the removal of the old outdated electrical systems and replaced them with: 568 miles of wire for lighting, power and systems; 27,000 feet of high voltage feeder cable; 12,000 feet of communication cable tray; 158 miles of conduit and 17,850 lighting fixtures. Barth also facilitated the outfitting of 66 electrical rooms, 32 mechanical equipment rooms and 37 motor control centers. The facility houses 4,000 employees and several federal agencies. The daily activity of those individuals was protected while this massive undertaking was completed.
Multiple Owners (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T)
We are a full service cell tower contractor, performing all necessary electrical need for such companies as: Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. Barth can perform all power and grounding needs for these facilities. We also perform emergency power service when needed, which we did when Hurricane Katrina hit the southern gulf coast states. We have performed tower work in multiple states as far east as Pennsylvania, north to Iowa and Michigan, west to Oklahoma and south to Louisiana.
The Barth Electric Company Building
1934 North Illinois Street, Indianapolis
Formerly occupied by the Fred Beck Distribution Company, The Barth Electric Building is a 75,000 sf state of the art office and warehouse facility located in the heart of Indianapolis. Remodeled in 1990 to become the headquarters for Barth Electric Co., and updated to include state of the art tele/communications systems with UPS and Generator back-up, the facility was originally part of the Indiana Emergency Management Team due to 24 hour emergency response capability. The building features an attractive brick and limestone Illinois Street façade, enclosed shipping and receiving docks, 25,000 sf office areas, and racked warehouse space.
IU Health Neuroscience Center: Indianapolis, IN
The Indiana University Health Neuroscience Center is a 270,000 sq. ft. work of art. This facility, situated just south of downtown on 16th St., is adorned with glass and metal designed to resemble the waves of an electroencephalogram. Inside, the neurological experts are equipped to treat an array of conditions from Alzheimer's disease to strokes. The six story atrium is adorned with state of the art LED lighting and technology abounds throughout the building. Barth completed work on the project in the summer of 2012. The installation included two, 3000A services, an emergency generator backup, the site and garage lighting, as well as all the low voltage systems.
JW Marriott - Indianapolis
Barth Electric performed as a full service design assist electrical contractor on this luxury 1005 room hotel. The 375 foot tall 34 story poured in place concrete structure is the largest hotel in the state, the largest JW Marriott in the US. Barth participated in an aggressive 3D coordination effort to deliver a fast, efficient schedule. Barth Electric's responsibilities included a 15 KV distribution system with 4 substations. A complete electrical installation including Lighting/controls, power, Telecommunications, AV systems, and Fire Alarm, 27 elevators, 31 meeting rooms, 40,500 square foot grand ballroom the largest in the Midwest, two restaurants, Spa, pool, and a three story underground parking garage. The Spring Hill Suites and the Courtyard were part of the JW Marriott and completed by Barth simultaneously. The project was completed on schedule in 2011.
